Transition Outcomes Project

Four districts (Alamogordo, Bernalillo, Roswell, and Taos, all represented among the cadre) piloted procedures and tools to improve their transition planning within the IEP for 14-22 year olds during 2000-2001, and many more districts and the Bureau of Indian Affairs will participate this year as part of the Transition Outcomes Project sponsored by the Mountain Plains Regional Resource Center and disseminated by Ed O'Leary and colleagues. IEP files are reviewed by trained teams to assess quality implementation of transition planning requirements and assist school personnel to make changes in district practice as needed.
