The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly: Student-focused Transition

Who should attend?

For best results, come as a team – including transition specialists, special education directors and teachers, school administrators, parents, youth, adult agency partners, and other transition team members.

Purpose:

To assist local transition teams to improve their youths’/young adults’ outcomes in line with these State Performance Plan Indicators:
Ind. 1 – Graduation rates (on the right graduation options)
Ind. 2 – Dropout rates
Ind. 13 – Quality, comprehensive transition planning in the IEP
Ind. 14 – Post-school outcomes (working, learning, living)

TENTATIVE “ROUNDUP” SCHEDULE:

Sunday June 6 – 4:30-6:30pm: Early registration; Transition 101 for newcomers
3:30-6:30: PRECONF. WORKSHOP “Student Involvement in Transition Programming: Reaching the Summit Out West” – Dr. Jim Martin
to be scheduled: Session on Data Review for Program Improvement
Monday June 7 – 8:15-6:30 Keynote, sessions, team planning, reception
Tuesday, June 8 – 8:30-4:30 Content sessions and team planning time
Tuesday, June 8 – 4:45-5:45 Family Forum
Wednesday, June 9 – 8:00-12:00 Team sessions, report-outs, wrap-up
